Legazpi City to welcome 700 foreign delegates of ASEAN and UNWTO

True to its moniker as the favorite Convention City of the Philippines, Legazpi City in the province of Albay will host one of the biggest events in the country. The city will bring convention accommodation to the next level as it welcomes an estimate of 700 foreign delegates of the Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), which will jointly host three events in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Sen. TG Guingona visits Legazpi City

Legazpi City, Albay--Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III dropped by Legazpi City last April 4 as part of his 4-day trip in Bicol region. He earlier visited the province of Camarines Sur and will proceed to Masbate after his stopover in the City of Fun and Adventure.

During his visit, Sen. Guingona III paid a courtesy call to Mayor Noel E. Rosal Friday morning. The city chief executive warmly welcomes the senator from Bukidnon, discussing the booming economy of the city.

Sen. Guingona III, then, met with the Liga ng mga Barangay of Legazpi City at the Ibalong Conference Room inside the Legazpi City Hall Compound, where he discussed the ill-famed Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), or also known as “pork barrel”.

Legazpi City, Albay--The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) has chosen the best location for their First Luzon Regional Conference slated March 27-30. Out of the numerous tourist destinations all over the Philippines, the organization chose Legazpi City—the City of Fun and Adventure—as the host city of its national confab.

Spearheaded by PSME’s president Engr. Ramon A. Picornell, in joint cooperation with the City Government of Legazpi and Provincial Government of Albay, an estimate of 1,200 delegates is expected to arrived the city tomorrow, March 26.

JCI World President inaugurates JCI Legazpi “supermarker” in The Boulevard

Legazpi City, Albay--Junior Chamber International (JCI) world president Shine Bhaskaran today led the inauguration of the newly-completed “JCI LEGAZPI” concrete marker, called “supermarker”, located at the Legazpi City Boulevard. The momentous event was attended by high-officials of the organization, including Legazpi City Mayor Noel E. Rosal.

Mayor Rosal said the “JCI LEGAZPI” marker in the boulevard has now added to the spectacular view on the picturesque seaside road that has already the excellent view of the Mayon Volcano and the Kapuntukan Hill to the north.

2 Bicolano solons push for Anti-Pasaway Act of 2014

Two Bicolano Party-list lawmakers have proposed the “Anti-Pasaway Act of 2014”, which penalize by imprisonment and fines acts of cutting in line, breaking lines and other related acts which are commonly referred to as “pasaway” for lack of discipline.

The Anti-Pasaway Act of 2014 or House Bill 3953 is authored by Ako Bikol Partylist Representatives Christopher S. Co and Rodel M. Batocabe. The Bicolano solons stressed, “Bawal na dapat ang mga pasaway.”
